Investigations into school fire continue

Investigations into the cause of a fire at a Hutt Valley secondary school will continue today.

Fire fighters were called to Upper Hutt College in Trenthem about 9.40 last night after a fire alarm went off.

They arrived to find a fire in a technical block, which took about 30 minutes to quell.

Five fire appliances attended the scene.

A fire investigator went to the school last night, but the cause of the blaze wasn't yet known, a fire spokesman said today.

The investigator would likely be back today.

The spokesman couldn't say how badly damaged the block was and it was expected that would become clear today too.

Nobody was injured.
