Investigation launched after death of man in Ngaruawahia

A homicide investigation has been launched after death of a 44-year-old man in Ngaruawahia yesterday morning.

Waikato Police were called to a rural property north of Ngaruawahia about 11am yesterday where the man had died.

A 38-year-old Hamilton man has since been charged with assault and appeared in Hamilton District Court today.

Police said they were continuing to speak with a number of people who were at the property at the time of the incident.
