Paul Reynolds, a prominent internet and media commentator who died suddenly this year, has been honoured with the establishment of a scholarship fund.
The National Library of New Zealand (NLNZ), and the Library and the Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA) have honoured Reynolds' memory by naming the scholarship, worth a minimum of $5000, after him.
The scholarship, which will be awarded every two years over the next decade, will enhance the knowledge and development of people who work in galleries, libraries, archives and museums.
"Paul loved libraries and museums and digital access to them was at the heart of how he thought and worked," NLNZ chief executive, Penny Carnaby said.
Reynolds, who was 61 when he died, made significant contributions to the Government's digital content strategy and shortly before his death served as a director of the NLNZ's digital library.
