Instant karma: School thief falls flat on his face

An alleged thief received instant karma when he face-planted on to concrete while trying to steal a speaker from Christchurch's Rawhiti School.

The attempted theft, on the weekend of September 29, was caught on CCTV footage and the Christchurch school posted it online.

Several speakers were stolen that weekend.

The footage shows four people trying to unhook the speaker. One climbson another's shoulders to better reach the speaker.

But one person face plants onto the concrete instead.

The group later returns with a chair and successfully pulldown the speaker.

Anyone who can identify the group is asked to call police.
