Injured toddler dies in hospital

A three-year-old girl found critically injured at a house in Palmerston North yesterday afternoon has died.

Police and ambulance services were called to the house in Hulme St around 1.20pm yesterday and found the three-year-old girl unconscious.

She was rushed to Palmerston North Hospital in a critical condition but died shortly before midday today.

A man and three other children under the age of ten were also at the house yesterday, police said.

The girl's name and her connection to the other people at the house has not been released.

Police are continuing their investigation into how the girl received her injuries.
