A man facing gun charges appeared in the dock at Masterton District Court yesterday sporting a bloody wound to his cheek and a bruised eye.
Lee Anthony Harris, 50, invalid, of Featherston, was accused of presenting a pistol at a person and unlawful possession of a pistol, thought to be a.22 calibre.
The charges followed an armed offenders raid on a house on Tuesday. A man was arrested an hour later after a vehicle was stopped near Wardells Bridge, just out of Masterton.
Judge Barry Lovegrove remanded Harris on bail for a pre-depositions hearing on July 30.
