A stockcar driver has been injured in a race at the Baypark Family Speedway in Tauranga tonight.
Emergency services were called at 8.52pm to the speedway, where the New Zealand Saloon Car Grand Prix is being.
Baypark Family Speedway promoter Bernie Gillon said the man was injured after his vehicle
collided with another stockcar.
""He was taken up the wall fairly heavily," Gillon said.
"He was complaining of bad back pain ... he was conscious throughout. Whenever someone complains of a sore back or neck we take every precaution."
