Information on hitch-hiker missing for more than a week floods in

Information on the whereabouts of a missing man last seen hitch-hiking in Paeroa more than a week ago is flooding in, say Waikato police.

Police put out a call for information on the location of Hamilton man Simon Andrew Fuller, 27, who has not been seen since February 25.

Waikato police Senior Sergeant Rupert Friend said since taking to the media about the search people had been calling in with possible leads.

"Already we have had, from the media going out yesterday, a number of people come forward with information. We are still collating it to see if any of the sightings are correct or if there is anything new that we can act on."

Mr Fuller was last seen heading north out of Paeroa, possibly towards Thames, and had not accessed his bank account since disappearing.

"No one has had any contact with Simon for a long time now and that is causing us concern. He gets out and around the place on a regular basis but he has not had any access to his bank accounts, which is unusual, so that is why it is of concern," Mr Friend said.

"He is well known, he hitch-hikes around quite a bit."

Mr Fuller is described as having shoulder-length brown hair, a full-length beard and is about 177cm tall and thin.

Mr Friend said Mr Fuller's disappearance was "not suspicious at this stage".

"I wouldn't suggest that there is any connection to hitch-hiking and us not knowing where he is, he could have just gone somewhere that we are not aware of."

He asked people to continue coming forward with any information on Mr Fuller's whereabouts.
