Motorway closures
The Symonds St onramp southbound to the Southern Motorway will be closed from 9 tonight to 6am tomorrow, and from 9pm tomorrow to 6am on Friday. The Tristram Ave offramp southbound from the Northern Motorway will be closed from 9 tonight to 6am tomorrow. Detours will be signposted.
Music while you sweat
Relax to the sounds of the Auckland City Brass at Vellenoweth Green in St Heliers today as competitors finish the Stroke and Stride on St Heliers Beach. The Stroke and Stride (a swim of 500m and a run of 5km) begins at 6.15pm on the beach. Visit the Stroke and Stride website for details.
Helpers wanted
More volunteers are needed to collect donations and sell light-sticks at the Starlight Symphony in the Auckland Domain on Saturday. Money raised will help the Special Olympics team "Go for Gold" at Dublin in June. You will be needed from 2.30pm to 6pm, and a meal and refreshments will be provided. Chinese exhibition
The Auckland Art Gallery in Lorne St is hosting a major touring exhibition of Chinese artefacts. Two Emperors: China's Ancient Origins includes pieces from the Qin and Han dynasties. The exhibition runs until March 9. The gallery is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
