"I rode the all- new Scout at Sturgis this year as a guest of Indian Motorcycle and was very impressed with its handling and balance. I'm sure Dad would have just loved it."
Peter Harvey, Country Manager for Indian Motorcycles is excited about the return of Scout to New Zealand and Southland.
"Burt's feats on a 47 year old bike at the Bonneville Salt Flats were bought to life in the 2005 movie The World's Fastest Indian - to modify a bike's top speed from 96km/hour to over 320km/hour is shows his sheer determination, grit and ingenuity, all attributes that resonate with our Kiwi riders," he said.
With high horsepower levels, exceptional comfort and superior handling, the all-new Scout is designed to appeal to riders of varying sizes and experience levels.
"The first truly new Scout in more than seven decades, it is a contemporary yet classic
interpretation of one of motorcycling's most coveted and famous bikes.
"We really encourage Southlanders and visitors to the Challenge to come along and see the new Scout and the rest of the Indian range - currently our only dealership is in Auckland so this will be the first time our whole range has been in the South Island.
"To top off Indian's return to Southland, a group of our customers will travel down from Auckland in convoy to attend the Challenge," he concluded.
