Five Chorus boxes in Lansdowne are soon to become much more interesting to look at than they are now when suitable art work is decided on to decorate them.
Already six boxes in Wairarapa sport scenes created by Wairarapa artists made possible through the co-operation of Chorus, the Creative CommunitiesCommittee and Masterton District Council.
The scenes are coated with anti-graffiti paint to deter vandalism.
The five boxes next on the list are in Totara St, Gordon St, Third St, Kitchener St and Manuka St by the golf course.
Connecting Communities Wairarapa manager Sandy Ryan is seeking input from people living in Lansdowne into the decoration of the boxes and in which order people think they should be painted.
She said suggestions for a design process and selection of preferred artwork are being sought and it may be that schools will be approached to see if pupils would be interested in designing a painting.
It is hoped other areas of town will make plans to decorate boxes in their communities.
