Rachel Hunter has insisted that she never slept with Wales football international Ryan Giggs.
It has been reported that the New Zealander was one of Giggs' conquests, however she told the Herald she wanted people to know the allegations were only rumours.
"I NEVER slept with Ryan Giggs. That rumour
started in Monaco years ago, so please inform them of that.
"I have met him, but that was it," she said.
In 2001, it was reported that Giggs was infatuated with Hunter and that he had been bombarding the model with phone calls.
At the time of their meeting at the world sports awards, Hunter had been separated from her former husband Rod Stewart and Giggs had recently broken with his girlfriend.
Britain's Sun newspaper reported that the Manchester United star "really, really liked her" and that he thought she was beautiful.
This month the allegations were brought up again after Giggs brought a "super-injunction" to prevent publication of claims that he had cheated on his wife with a former reality TV contestant.
He attempted to keep his identity out of the press but was identified on Twitter, with more than 75,000 people naming him on the website.
This led to British member of Parliament John Hemming identifying Giggs on Monday in Parliament.
Giggs, 37, is expected to play in this weekend's Champions League final for Manchester United against Barcelona.
