Hunt for driver after woman dragged 10m in Glenfield Mall carpark robbery

North Shore police are appealing for help to find a man after a woman was dragged 10 metres inside a mall carpark while trying to retrieve her stolen handbag from a thief’s car.

A police spokesperson said the woman was pulled to the ground by a man trying to take her handbag at Glenfield Mall, Auckland, about 5pm on December 1.

The alleged offender ran to his car - a white Toyota Mark-X - after stealing the handbag and drove away, “dragging the victim approximately 10m as she tried to retrieve the bag from the vehicle”.

“This is an incredibly concerning incident and the victim was lucky to sustain only minor injuries,” police said.

“We would like to hear from anyone who can assist us with identifying this individual.”
