The human leg bones and foot in a boot found on a beach near Timaru nearly two weeks ago have been confirmed as belonging to a missing man.
Darryl McNee from Timaru.
Timaru man Darryl McNee, 44, went missing at the beginning of May, and his station wagon was found at the end of
Connolly Rd in Seadown.
His disappearance had come as a surprise to family and friends and a search of the area, including the beach, turned up nothing.
However, the police have now confirmed the remains that washed up weeks later on a beach near Washdyke were his.
