A new Google feature now lets users choose which publishers and news organisations they want more of in their search results.

This update will offer Google users globally a more curated and personalised experience.

The “preferred sources” feature lets users customise their results, and by selecting the New Zealand Herald, you’ll see more Herald articles in Google Top Stories and your search results.

To make sure you see more NZ Herald content in search results, just click here and type nzherald into the box, tick the box next to nzherald.co.nz, and you’re done.

Alternatively you can:

• Open Google and search for any topic, eg “NZ news”
• Click on the Cards star icon on the right of Top Stories
• Search for NZ Herald and tick the box
• Click “Reload results”

Once you select sources, those publishers will appear more often and more prominently in the Top Stories or the dedicated “From your sources” section of the search results page.
