House fire in Auckland require five fire engines

The second floor of an Auckland house was completely engulfed in flames this evening.

The fire services were called to the Birkenhead blaze around 8.40pm.

A fire spokeswoman said all people were accounted for and there were no injuries.

Five appliances and the fire investigator were sent to the scene.

"We've got one truck there keeping an eye out to make sure things don't flare up," said the spokeswoman.
