Mediation between hospital service workers and district health boards has stalled, reigniting the prospect of a strike next week.
The Service and Food Workers' Union, representing orderlies, cleaners and kitchen staff, on Friday accused DHB delegates of walking out on talks it was hoped would forestall astrike planned from midnight Tuesday. But DHB spokesman Craig Climo said they needed time to analyse a union response and would return to talks on Thursday.
