Hospital boards to merge

People in Otago and Southland have said by a narrow majority they want their two hospital boards to merge.

Submissions on a proposal for the Otago and Southland district health boards to merge into a joint board were 54 per cent in favour overall of the merger, although Southland reaction was less enthusiastic, at 50 per cent.
