Police have secured a property in Flaxmere, Hastings, after a critically injured 2-year-old boy was admitted to Hawke's Bay Hospital yesterday.
The property, in Columbus Cres, was taped off, with a security officer as scene guard. Police Eastern District communications manager Kris McGehan said a scene examination was expected tobe undertaken today.
The cause of the boy's injuries was unclear.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance yesterday morning and was thought to be in a stable condition later in the day, Ms McGehan said.
