Police have secured a property in Flaxmere, Hastings, after a critically injured 2-year-old boy was admitted to Hawke's Bay Hospital yesterday.
The property, in Columbus Cres, was taped off, with a security officer as scene guard. Police Eastern District communications manager Kris McGehan said a scene examination was expected to
be undertaken today.
The cause of the boy's injuries was unclear.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance yesterday morning and was thought to be in a stable condition later in the day, Ms McGehan said.
