A woman critically injured in a hit and run in Auckland is still on life support, more than a month after she was knocked off her bike.
The 46-year-old nurse, a mother of two, has been on life support since September 10.
She was on her bike when she washit by a four-wheel-drive towing a trailer at the intersection of Quay Street and the Strand in Parnell just before 9.30am.
The Police Serious Crash Unit said that as a result of information from the public, a vehicle had been identified and they were seeking the driver.
"A black or dark-coloured BMW is reported to have stopped at the scene but left prior to police arriving," Constable Mark Rodgers said.
"This BMW may have been a convertible with its soft top down at the time. We urgently want to speak to the driver or occupants of this vehicle."
Anyone who knew the owner of such a vehicle or had any information was urged to contact Mr Rodgers on 09 359 3116 or email him on mark.rodgers@police.govt.nz.
