THERE was an excellent 31 entries for the final Wairarapa Car Club event of the year, the Dorset Road hillclimb, on Sunday.
And the three fastest were all Wairarapa men, rally ace Richard Mason heading off veteran Roger Brader and Wellington-domiciled Richard Billington.
Conditions were cold and drizzly, but despite that the
top five cars all got under three minutes. Mason's winning time was 2m 44.5s. He shared drives in the Evo 5 with Nelson woman Sara Randall, who brought the big car home ninth in class.
Graham Moran will be delighted to have won the 2100cc and over class in Roger Brader's venerable Mazda RX3.
