Hide apologises for claim

Act MP Rodney Mr Hide made a personal explanation to Parliament yesterday apologising for wrongly stating Hemana Waaka, managing director of Maori Sports Casting International, had not commentated on a game in Perth between Australia and New Zealand Maori in June last year.

"I understand through the media that Sky TV have confirmed that the commentary did take place on that day."

On Tuesday Mr Hide said in Parliament TMP had approved payment for a non-existent commentary of the game. He had alleged MSCI was paid $18,000 for the three-match tour but did not cover the clash with the Wallabies.
