Hi, I'm Brighton and I'm looking for love: David Cunliffe pic hijacked by Chinese dating site

His name is "Brighton", he's 48 years old, weighs 82kg, works as a civil engineer in Manchester, England, and is looking for love on the Chinese dating site Chinese Kisses.

And he looks exactly like David Cunliffe.

But Brighton isn't long-lost twin, or the result of a secret cloning experiment. The picture used on the dating site is of the former Labour leader, and Mr Cunliffe wants it removed.

He told the Herald: "It's a joke but we'll seek to get it down. I wish I was only 182 pounds - but I am not a civil engineer from Manchester. It is clearly a quiet day in the National Party.

"And, not content with sending troops to the Middle East, they are up to their old tricks."

Mr Cunliffe said the photo was from when he was in the Hawkes Bay.

He confirmed it wasn't an identical twin. "There are, however, quite a lot of Cunliffes in Lancashire, but that's not one of them."
