Heart attack killed man found in park

South Auckland police say the man whose body was discovered in a park in Manukau City yesterday died of a heart attack.

A police investigation was launched after a person attending a function reported finding the 48-year-old's body in David Lange Park, Mangere, at 12.50am.

Detective Richard O'Connor of the Manukau Crime Squad said the man had been seen earlier in the evening, so he hadn't been in the park long.
