Head-on near Pahiatua kills one person

Save One person is dead and two others injured after a two-car crash in Tararua overnight.
The head-on crash happened on State Highway 2, 5km south of Pahiatua, about 11.35pm, Sergeant Andy Dow from central police communications said.
One person died at the scene and two others were hospitalised, one in
a serious condition and the other with moderate injuries.
Police were informing next of kin, Mr Dow said.
The road was closed for a period overnight but had now reopened.
