It wasn't quite a win to rival Trevor from Te Kauwhata but one lucky Hawke's Bay resident was waking up $10 million richer this morning.
The unknown person struck the jackpot in the Lotto Powerball First Division, the latest in a string of instant millionaires this year.
"Powerball has hadan amazing run of winners in 2012," said NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive Wayne Pickup.
"Since Trevor in Te Kauwhata won $26 million in late March, we've also had a $5.5 million winner in Christchurch and a $5.3 million winner from Balclutha."
They picked up $10m from Powerball and the $333,333 from Lotto First Division.
Trev has purchased multi-million dollar homes for himself and close family since his big won, and recently returned from a trip to the United States, where he bought an expensive new off-road buggy.
Last night's winning Lotto Powerball ticket was sold at Napier City Pak'n'Save.
There were two other Lotto winners tonight, also winning a $333,333 share of Lotto First Division. The tickets were sold at Countdown Westgate in Auckland and New World Whanganui in Whanganui.
