Police are investigating a suspicious fire that gutted the Hastings Tyre Service Centre on Omahu Road early on Thursday.
The fire was reported to police about 2.50am and has caused extensive damage to the business, including customers’ vehicles.
There were no reports of injuries.
A person on a bicycle wasseen in the area and police are seeking further information regarding their identity and movements around the time of the fire.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the fire at the property was well-involved when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters left around 6.30am after extinguishing the blaze.

Police are appealing to the public for any information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, that may assist inquiries.
