Hastings bar brawl: Police arrest man, hunt on for two more

A police manhunt is underway for two men after a Hastings bar fight that injured several people and sent one to hospital.

Detective Sergeant Heath Jones yesterday issued warrants to arrest Masyn Ratima, 19, and Christopher Wirihana, 18, in relation to the March 8 fight.

Police released a photo of Ratima to help people identify him. One of Wirihana was not immediately available.

Both are believed to be in Hawke’s Bay.

Jones said police were also looking for two women in relation to the fight.

He believed they may be able to help with inquiries and ask anyone who recognised the women to get in touch.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to the fight last week.

Another person has been arrested after the violence between 1.30am and 2am on Sunday, March 8 at The Common Room on Heretaunga St East.

The arrested man, 20, is due to appear in Hastings District Court today charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault with intent to injure.
