Handy tides guide

Boaties, anglers and beach users can look forward to summer confident of always knowing when the tide is in or out with the publication of the Herald's handy guide.

The Herald's annual time and tide chart for next year will be issued free with the newspaper on Friday, December 15.

The poster-sized calendar is based on New Zealand standard time and corrections have been made for daylight saving time.

High-water times for Auckland and Onehunga are given.

The chart also includes tide times for Waiheke, Coromandel Peninsula, Great Barrier Island, Bay of Plenty and Whangarei, on the east coast.

On the west coast, tide times are given for the Hokianga, Kaipara and Manukau harbours.
