A search is underway in Hamilton after a person died in a violent attack on Friday evening.
Police were called to Slim St in Bader Hamilton just before 6pm to reports of a grievous assault. It is understood that the person was stabbed.
Detective Senior Sergeant William Loughrin said a
person had died at a residential address and a homicide investigation was under way.
"Police are conducting enquiries to locate the alleged offender and we are committed to resolving this matter as quickly as possible," he said.
A scene examination was taking place at the property, and police were speaking to witnesses.
