Hamilton man to fight shooting charge

A Hamilton man facing a charge over an alleged shooting in the city on Thursday plans to fight the charge.

Teina Williams, 25, appeared in the Hamilton District Court this afternoon charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to the victim after the incident on Norrie St.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Williams' lawyer Sharon Green today entered a not guilty plea to the charge.

She elected trial by jury.

She did not seek bail for her client and he was remanded in custody to reappear on August 18.
