Guns, drugs, cash and surveillance equipment have been found by police in a multi-million dollar methamphetamine lab bust in Glen Innes.
Detective Sergeant Mark Rowbottom said the lab was one of the most "highly sophisticated" police have seen.
Armed Offenders raided the house last Thursday and found apistol grip shotgun and a seven shot revolver.
Mr Rowbottom said police are trying to find out where the guns have come from but the serial numbers have been filed off.
He said the p lab was one of the largest found in East Auckland and was a multi-million dollar operation.
"It wasn't a small lab. Because of the waste there and the product there, it indicates they had already produced a large quantity and they had the means to produce a large amount," he said.
He said over $40,000 in cash was also found at the house.
"It was all set up surveillance wise. If they had been watching and we had come up the drive, they would have known," Mr Rowbottom said.
He said it is not known if the arrested man had gang connections. "There's no indication where it was going. He was making such a lot of product, we can theorise but we've got nothing to say where it was going. You don't go to a shop and sell this sort of thing, he would have had a network," Mr Rowbottom said.
A 41 year-old unemployed man has been arrested and appeared in the Auckland District Court on charges including manufacturing methamphetamine, possession for supply and two firearms charges.
The man is on bail and is next due in court on March 27.
