GST protests planned

Protests and pickets are planned outside the offices of National Party MPs today, over the likely increase in GST.

The Campaign for a Living Wage is behind the demonstrations. It says the Government is putting the boot into the poorest workers, while giving tax cuts to its rich mates.

Campaigners have gathered around 100,000 signatures for a referendum to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.
