It will be a case of all roads lead to Greytown for football fans tomorrow.
It is there Wairarapa Football Association will stage the finals of their knockout competitions.
Contesting the plate final, which gets under way at 12.30pm, will be relative newcomers to Wairarapa football, Featherston United, and Trevs SportsMasterton Athletic.
Their semifinal matches saw Featherston United score a commanding 6-0 win over Evergreens and Masterton Athletic beat Masterton Pacific United 5-2.
The main championship starts at 1.30pm where two Greytown-based teams do battle, White Swan Greytown and A1 Homes Greytown.
They were both involved in hard-fought semis, White Swan beating Masterton McAuleys 3-1 and A1 Homes accounting for Douglas Villa Good Beginnings 2-0.
Meanwhile it's all go for the Douglas Villa junior football tournament at the Park Sportsground and Hullena Park in Masterton tomorrow and Sunday.
Called off last weekend because of a weather forecast which touted gale force winds and heavy rain, the event has attracted a capacity 138 teams with locals being joined by others from regions such as Hawke's Bay. Manawatu, Wanganui, Horowhenua-Kapiti, Hutt Valley and Wanganui.
So popular is this tourney organisers are now giving thought to stretching it over two weekends and to including grades for girls-only teams, starting as early as next year.
