Greasy beach blobs on wane

Clean-up crews spent a second day tackling a scourge of white greasy blobs dumped by the tide at eastern bays beaches.

Kohimarama residents yesterday reported fewer blobs than on Wednesday and Metrowater stood down its pollution-ready response team.

Auckland City Council parks staff are handling the clean-up.
