A King Country grandfather charged with injuring a child after a domestic dispute turned ugly, appeared in the Te Kuiti District Court again this morning.
Leonard Iti, 57, was also charged with assaulting a female, and breach of a protection order following an incident in the town on Tuesday morning.
His four-year-old grandson was taken to Te Kuiti Hospital that morning with minor burns to his buttocks after Mr Iti allegedly threw boiling water at his wife during an argument to "cool her off".
Mr Iti, unemployed, told police he did not realise the water in a jug had just been boiled.
He was remanded without plea to reappear in the court on October 18.
