GPs attacked over fees

Health bosses have criticised GPs in Rotorua and Taupo for increasing their fees without notification.

The doctors said the increase was necessary, and they had no obligation to inform the board.

Health Rotorua GPs raised patient fees by as much as $3 from July 1, and Lake Taupo PHO GPs increased their fees by as much as $5 from July 13.
