A large high will bring easterlies to northern New Zealand and mostly light winds elsewhere. We track a few showers over the coming days - we'll show you who is most at risk. Then we take a look at the end of January - and look at the rain chances for early February.
Aucklanders are in for some "gorgeous" weather over the long weekend, Metservice predicts.
"We've got a big area of high pressure sitting in place across New Zealand with some gorgeous looking weather over the next few days," said Metservice meteorologist Dan Corbett.
The large high is expected to give Aucklanda sunny long weekend.
"The anniversary weekend is looking wonderful, but bear in mind the easterly," he said.
The odd shower is possible too, but Auckland can expect an average high temperature of 25°C from Saturday through to Monday.
Corbett warns the rest of New Zealand not to be put off by early morning cloud tomorrow, as that will burn off and give way to sunny weather for most of the day.
The South Island is expecting some high temperatures too, with Invercargill set to reach a high of 27°C.
