Conditions around NZ have cooled down a little bit this week but for the most part most regions are still mild considering we're in the depths of winter. Now we see even warmer weather coming as northerlies start to develop next week.
Auckland is in for a dry, settled weekend as good weather moves across the country.
"A high pressure system is speeding across from the Tasman sea, and as that builds, we're going to find it's a pretty settled story across New Zealand," MetService forecaster John Law said.
"The weekend willbe great for outdoor plans so make the most of it."
Auckland would be largely dry and "not too cold", he said.
A south-westerly breeze could be pushing cloud across the city, especially in the mornings, bringing a the odd spot of rain.
