Organiser Nicola Herrick was delighted with the response to the Wairarapa secondary schools squash tournament.
Herrick started as sports co-ordinator at Wairarapa College at the beginning of the year and more than 40 students showed an interest in representing the school in squash.
Herrick decided to organise a tournament, with RathkealeCollege, Chanel College and Makoura College also entering teams.
With Shoe Clinic as the major sponsor, the open grades were played best-of-five-games and there were three players in each team while the division two and three boys' grades were run under a business house format.
