Time once again to catch on things that have been happening at the golf club over the past couple of weeks.
Women played in the Tilson Salver Trophy at Castlepoint against Riversdale, and were more than pleased to come away with a 4-2 win.
Tuesday's normal women's competition day was a Captains
versus Secretaries match and the Captains team were the winners with 196 points. Secretaries team had 170.
Winners on the day for this stableford event were: Bev Thomson 45 points, Julie Channer 43 and, in a countback, Roz Harding and Barbara Thompson 37. Bev Thomson achieved the All Teed Up sponsored hole nearest to the pin on the ninth hole.
The Sunday before the Marquis Shield team played against Martinborough at Masterton and were unfortunate in coming second.
The club's juniors also played against Martinborough and had the same fate.
Last Saturday the interclub teams played their matches against an on-fire Mahunga team in both grades. The 7th division team lost 12 to 2 and the 11th division team lost 13 to 1.
Sunday was a normal competition day at the club and the winners for the stableford event were: 1 Allen Bennett, 45 points; 2 Alf Sio, 41.
Allen Bennett also achieved two 2s and Brian Russo got a two.
