Wairarapa athletes made a big impact on day three of the Oceania track and field championships in Papeete, Tahiti.
Simone Small, who earlier in the meet had won two gold medals in relay events, placed third in the senior women's 100m with a time of 12.55s.
Toea Wisil ofPapua New Guinea was first in 11.82s and Patty Taea of Cook Islands second in 12.49s.
Kate Plimmer also added to her medal haul by placing second in the under-18 girls triple jump with a best leap of 10.77m and she was also part of the New Zealand team which was second in the girls under 18-yrs 4 by 400m relay with a time of 4m 9.40s.
Winner of the triple jump was Aprille Mincher of New Zealand with 10.90m while Australia won the relay in 4.3.45. Plimmer had earlier won gold medals in the under-18 long jump and 4x100m relay.
Also on the third day, Sian Chapman was fifth in the girls under-18 200m and Emma Kruszona fifth in the girls under-18 discus. Chapman had earlier won gold in the 4x100m relay and Kruszona a bronze in the hammer throw.
