Girls go wild in Gore crimewave

Police yesterday labelled two Gore girls a mini crimewave after a weekend of mischief.

Senior Constable Stephen Heyrick said the girls, aged 9 and 13, had owned up to many incidents - including some of which police were not aware.

The pair had entered properties and, if confronted, had said they were looking for a dog or a friend.

They threw eggs at houses, took $110 in cash from a house, smashed a glass pane at a foodbar, took clothes from a clothesline and personal items from a caravan, entered a school and took items out of students' lockers, and stole three bicycles and a scooter from two properties.

The girls have been referred to Youth Aid.
