Girl suffers burns after falling into hot pool

A 12-year-old has suffered burns to more than 40 per cent of her body after she fell in to a Rotorua hot pool yesterday.

A Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance spokesperson said the girl was running through a thermal area when she fell into the mud pool, sustaining third degree burns to over 40 per cent of her body.

She was taken to Rotorua Hospital before being flown to the Burns Unit at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland.
