Girl dies in fatal Kawakawa Bay crash

A 10-year-old girl has been killed in an accident involving a truck, a car and a pedestrian at Kawakawa Bay in Auckland this afternoon.
No further details were available on whether the child was a passenger or pedestrian or how the accident occurred.
Inspector Terrence Van Dillen of police northern
communications said police were still at the scene this evening, and an investigation was underway.
He said the crash happened just before 4pm on Clevedon-Kawakawa Rd and had been witnessed by a bus load of children.
"It's a very untidy scene there, very sad."
A diversion through a farm had allowed traffic to flow, very slowly.
