“This is important because use-by dates indicate when the product is no longer safe to eat.
“This product should not be eaten. You can return them to the place of purchase for a refund. If that’s not possible, throw them out.”
The affected batch of Ghiotti brand Chorizo Velita (150g) is sold at retailers throughout New Zealand.
The products were imported from Spain and labelled in New Zealand. The products have not been re-exported and have been removed from stores.
“As is our usual practice, NZFS will work with Granarolo New Zealand to understand how the date mark labelling error occurred and prevent its recurrence,” Arbuckle said.
