Save A group of penguin chicks have taken their first swimming lessons at Auckland's Kelly Tarlton's Sea Life Aquarium.
Keepers took three gentoo chicks for their first swim in the main penguin aquarium yesterday afternoon.
The three-month-old chicks will slowly be introduced into life in the enclosure.
Gentoo penguins populate the
Antarctic Peninsula and the numerous islands around the continent.
They are the third-largest type of penguin in the world, reaching a height of 76cm and a weight of 5.5kg.
