Police are finding it difficult to get information from two motorcycle gang members believed to have been injured in an attack north of Dunedin on Saturday.
The brawl, at Waikouaiti, saw several members of Dunedin's Southern Vikings and Christchurch's Epitaph Riders gang members attack two Road Knights gang members, around 2.30pm.
About 15 members of the Southern Vikings and Epitaph Riders had been drinking in a nearby hotel before the incident.
Pieces of wood, and possibly iron bars were used to beat the two Road Knights in an attack that witnesses described as "sickening."
