Game and cooking is on for new look Eden Park

Eden park will finally fling open its doors to the public today after its three-year, $240-million redevelopment.

Around 20,000 people are expected to rub shoulders with their sporting heroes and tour changing rooms, coaches' boxes, media centre and the ground's main control room.

Event organiser Nicky Clarke said players from the Auckland Blues, Black Ferns, and Warriors would play a touch rugby match.

Prime Minister John Key will officially open the new ground at 11am and OpShop, Annabel Fay and female hip-hop group Request will perform.

Boxer Shane Cameron, whose next fight is against Anthony McCracken on November 17, will feature in a cook-off against a mystery sports star with Masterchef runner-up Kelly Young judging.

Entry is by gold-coin donation, with all proceeds going to charity.
