Fugitive Rollie Heke's former partner sought by police

Police searching for fugitive Rollie Heke are also seeking 43-year-old Irene Scanlon, an ex-partner of the fugitive who they believe may be assisting him to evade police.

Detective Superintendent Chris Page said Scanlon also has a warrant to arrest for breaching her community detention conditions.

Scanlon is described as approximately 162cm tall and of medium build.

She has a tattoo of a swastika on her left thumb and a flower on her left wrist and forearm.

She usually has dyed blonde hair, Page said.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Scanlon is asked to contact the toll-free number which has been established for the investigation, which is 0800 800 493.

Police continue to build a picture of Heke's associates and are approaching people known to him across the country.

Police said they will continue to pay close attention to these individuals until he is located.

Police are also continuing to investigate the events of Sunday morning and are speaking to a number of people in relation the incident.

Heke's father has today spoken in the media, urging his son to peacefully hand himself in.
This follows similar comments in the media from his mother.

This is a message which police strongly endorses, Page said.
